This is all that remains of the old wharf that Captain Battersby
used to set sail from when shipping potatoes and lumber along
the eastern seaboard of the U.S. and into the Caribbean. It is rumored
that the odd wooden keg of rum made it's back to PEI on the return voyages.
The Battersby Wharf was used until the early 1950s.
